Who I Am

My name is Darcy Mojka and I am a 22 year old transfer student at The College of New Jersey. My life revolves around my family. Kind of. They don't make my decisions for me and they aren't overbearing, most of the time. But I love my family and I spend a lot of my time with them. They are who I am, so I feel like if I didn't love them, then I wouldn't love myself. My goal in life is to be happy. I know that sounds corny, but I'm very serious about it. If I'm not happy, than I'm not going to continue on that path...which I suppose is why I'm now back in school after taking two whole years off. I went to RVCC and graduated with my AFA in Visual Arts. Shortly after graduation, I moved to Arizona for a few months and worked as a Graphic Design Assistant. I decided to move back home because I wasn't happy being that far away from home and I missed my family (I told you they were important). I thought it would be easy for me to find a Graphics job here, being so close to the city, but I was extremely sadly mistaken. For the past two years I have done a lot of feeling sorry for myself. It took my grandfathers passing in January (and a recollection of a promise that I had made to that old man <3) to finally give me a kick in the right direction. So in January 2010 I applied to TCNJ, I was accepted in February, I sent in my portfolio by March and was accepted into the art school in April. It all happened so fast and now it's the first day of school and I'm not sure it's really hit me that I've started to fulfill the promise that I made to my grandfather right before he died.
